The library's web site now provides an RSS Feed Aggregator for authenticated users.  This new feature provides a place to aggregate all your RSS Feeds (such as those exported from PubMed searches, found on news sources, etc).  To use the feature, put the URL of the feed (found by copying the link location/shortcut on an RSS or XML image like RSS or XML) into the "Feed URL" field in the "RSS Feeds" section on the main page of the library web site and click the "Add Feed" button (you must be logged in for this section to be available).

RSS Feeds for PubMed search results can be generated by choosing "RSS Feed" under the "Send to" drop-down list and following the instructions.

Subscription to Exam Master Online Posted Tuesday, March 14, 2006, 9:07 pm
The Library of the Health Sciences is pleased to announce the availability of Exam Master Online for our medical students, residents, physican assistant students, and others preparing for a variety of board and specialty exams.  We were able to finance a one year subscription from funds generously provided to us by medical school alumni.  We hope that this alumni fund will continue to grow each year through contributions by graduates.

First time users are required to register with the system and then use a username and password to access the main menu. The username and password are required because the system maintains personal information and examination and study history for each user.

Then, for those who have not registered they click on *Not Registered Yet*.
A password is immediately sent by email. The user can change this password at any time.

Registered users simply provide their username and password to access the system.

Once at the Main Menu, users can select *Create Exams* and use the on-screen help to get started.

A quick guide is also available to help you get started.

EXAM MASTER ONLINE Posted Wednesday, February 8, 2006, 9:16 am
The Library of the Health Sciences has arranged for a trial for *EXAM MASTER ONLINE* through March 15, 2006. EXAM MASTER is a newly updated *USMLE* and board preparation and review tool that provides access to thousands of basic and clinical sciences questions. The completely revised interface allows for quick and easy navigation, and provides students with the ability to create very customized practice exams and study blocks.

In November 2005, EXAM MASTER completely revised the testing interface to closely match what is *actually used on the USMLE exam*. This new test mode interface has excellent navigational tools, and includes other features found on the exam, including the ability to attach notes to each question. This system is in use at over *60 academic health centers and teaching hospitals* not only as a way to prepare for the USMLE, but, more than ever, EXAM MASTER has become an important *curriculum support tool* that students rely on to help them with their course work and in assessing their knowledge base.  It assists in identifying and improving areas of weaknesses using detailed score reporting that helps the student target their studies and identify those strong _and_ weak areas.

First time users are required to register with the system and then use a username and password to access the main menu. The username and password are required because the system maintains personal information and examination and study history for each user.

To get started you simply *Click to Start*.

Then, for those who have not registered they click on *Not Registered Yet*.
A password is immediately sent by email. The user can change this password at any time.

Registered users simply provide their username and password to access the system.

Once at the Main Menu, users can select *Create Exams* and use the on-screen help to get started.

A quick guide is available to help you get started.

Please send comments regarding EXAM MASTER and this trial to Judy Rieke.
